All Around Raspberry Sauce

by Leave a Comment

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This all around raspberry sauce is a perfect summertime addition to liven up your menu. Spoon it on pancakes, waffles, or French toast. Sweeten up your lemonade or iced tea. Swirl it in your ice cream or Greek yogurt, and add it on top of just about any kind of cake like I did with my gluten free chocolate cake to die for.

I make this recipe all of the time and use either organice frozen raspberries or a berry blend.

Picking and Storing Berries

Picking fresh fruits at their peak season is one of my favorite ways to pass the time.

Freezing them is simple. Lay the berries out flat on a sheet pan. Place the pan in the freezer. Once the berries are frozen, transfer to a freezer safe container.

If you store the berries properly, you can enjoy a heavenly pie or compote of choice at any time of the year.

Berry Nutrition

Berries are a great health food. They are high in antioxidants and vitamin C. Berries are low in calories and have one of the lowest carb counts of all fruits. For more nutritional information on berries click here.

How to make All Around Raspberry Sauce

This recipe couldn’t be more simple and takes just a short 10 minutes.

Combine the raspberries, lemon juice, sweetener, and xanthan gum together in a non reactive saucepan over medium-low heat.

Cook the berry mixture for 10 minutes or until sauce is desired conistency, then strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds.

This versatile all around raspberry sauce will take a short 10 minutes to prepare and is great for many diets. So what are you waiting for!?
