Keto avocado brownies are made with fresh avocado, cocoa powder and almond flour. This easy low carb and gluten free recipe provides a rich and decadent brownie your entire family will enjoy.
Brownies
A typical brownie recipe will often require a great deal of butter or sometimes oil added to the recipe. Cakey brownies require the least amount of added fat, while the highly sought-after fudgy brownies are, to no surprise, loaded with mounds of yummy butter.
The purpose of avocado brownies is to cut back on the use of butter or oil used in a recipe. Avocados are high in fat (but the good kind) and provide a much more healthful substitute for butter or oil.
What you will need:
- 1 large or 2 small Avocados
- 1 Egg
- Vanilla
- Butter, at room temperature
- Unsweetened Applesauce
- Cocoa powder, not Dutch processed
- Almond flour, superfine and blanched
- Espresso powder (instant)
- Baking soda
- Swerve brown
- Swerve granulated
- Kosher salt
- SF Chocolate chips (optional), we use Lillys
- Chopped nuts (optional)
- 8×8 or 10×6 baking pan
- Parchment paper
- Food processor

How to make Keto Avocado Brownies
The easiest and quickest way to make this brownie recipe is to place all of the required ingredients in the food processor and mix until broken down and fully combine, scraping down the sides often.
If you do not have a food processor, mash the avocado with a mortar and pestle or in a bowl with a fork until it is completely broken up. Do not use an overripe avocado as it will give the brownies an “off” taste.
Combine the sugars with the room temperature butter and cream together. Add the avocado and applesauce to the butter mixture, then add the egg and vanilla.
Weigh or measure all of the dry ingredients and then sift them together into a large bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the avocado mixture one-third at a time.
Transfer the batter to a prepared baking pan. If using any additional toppings, add now. Place in a preheated 375° oven for 45 minutes or until the brownies are cooked through, and remove from the oven.
Allow to slightly cool before cutting. Top with your favorite ice cream or icing.
These brownies will keep refrigerated, in a sealed container, for up to five days.
